The STIHL MS 180 Petrol Chainsaw is a compact saw ideal for cutting firewood and for property maintenance. It features an economical 2-MIX engine which supplies the chainsaw plenty of power, whilst remaining extremely light and well-balanced. There’s easy access to the side chain tensioner which offers a simple approach to basic maintenance.

Advanced combustion Technology
Four overflow channels swirl the fuel-air mixture before ignition. This allows for optimum combustion and efficient performance, which results in lower fuel consumption and high torque across a broad rpm range.

STIHL 2-MIX Engine
Thanks to the highly economical STIHL 2-MIX engine with 1-in-4 channel technology you can expect fuel savings of up to 20% when compared to STIHL chainsaws in the same performance class without it. Better yet, you keep the same high torque and wide speed range, and exhaust emissions are reduced by up to 50%.

Anti-vibration System
Power tools can lead to long-term effects on blood vessels in your hands and arms due to the intense vibrations they cause. STIHL has helped overcome this issue by developing an effective anti-vibration system where the oscillations from the high-speed engine are dampened, thus, reducing the vibrations a user feels through the handles.

Compensator
A small controller in the carburettor helps to prevent the fuel-air mixture from getting richer as the filter becomes clogged through use. Therefore, the correct amount of fuel is delivered to the carburettor depending on the quantity of air which is passing through the air filter. Thanks to this feature the fuel/air ratio in the combustion mixture remain constant and so does the engine power. The filter doesn?t need to be cleaned until an appreciable drop in power occurs.

Single-lever master control
All the important functions such as the start, choke, throttle and stop mechanisms are easily operated on a single lever.

Side chain tensioner
The tensioning screw can be found on the side of the chainsaw through the sprocket cover. This removes any need for contact with the sharp saw chain.
